Alta X v2.1 Beta Quick Start

Quick Start

1. Read and digest the release notes in detail v2.1.x Beta

2. Download Alta X Beta Firmware below

3. Update Alta X Firmware

4. Remove QGC

5. Acquire the new Apps

   1. To do this for the Pilot Pro, you need to add beta repositories to the updater app. Follow Pilot Pro Beta Apps below.

   2. To download AMC for mac/windows, see links below

   3. To test on UXV, you need to add beta repositories to the updater app. Follow UXV Beta Apps

6. Open AMC

   1. Select the correct controller for FF_INPUT_TYPE. It MUST be selected manually the first time after installing Alta X firmware v2.1. It can be set in AMC > Vehicle Menu (top left, to the right of the app icon) > Select Controller

   2. Go through any aircraft calibrations that are indicated by AMC

7. Go through pre-flight checklists, conduct test flights and build experience gradually after the update

Pilot Pro Beta Apps

There are 4 apps that need to be installed/updated

• Freefly Updater v3.1.1

• Pilot Pro App v2.4.2

• MAVLink Router App v1.3.1

• AMC v1.37.19

Instructions

1. Internet

   1. Connect the Pilot Pro tablet to the internet via the wifi settings

2. Locate Repositories

   1. Open the Freefly Updater app

   2. Go to ⋮ > Repositories

   3. Confirm that you have Alta X bundle and Pilot Pro bundle enabled

3. Add Alta X beta

   1. Open Alta X bundle by pressing and holding. Click "edit" and then copy the address. Go back to main Repositories page without making any changes.

   2. Click "Add repository". Change the ending from "/stable_repo" to "/beta_repo". Click Save.

   3. Unselect the Alta X bundle, so the beta bundle is the one that remains selected instead.

4. Add Pilot Pro beta

   1. Repeat 3 a, b and c for Pilot Pro bundle

5. Navigate back to the home page of the Freefly Updater

   1. Update/install all four apps

      1. Make sure the Aircraft is powered off during Pilot Pro updates

   2. Ensure installed versions match the version above

UXV Beta Apps

There are 2 apps that need to be installed/updated

• MAVLink Router App v1.3.1

• AMC v1.37.19

Instructions

1. Internet

   1. Connect the UXV tablet to the internet via the wifi settings

2. Locate Repositories

   1. Open the Freefly Updater app

   2. Go to Settings > Repositories

   3. Confirm that you have the UXV bundle enabled

3. Add UXV beta

   1. Open UXV bundle by pressing and holding. Click "edit" and then copy the address. Go back to main Repositories page without making any changes.

   2. Click "Add repository". Change the ending from "/stable_repo" to "/beta_repo". The link should be http://freefly-updater.freeflysystems.com/v1_uxv/beta_repo/. Click Save.

   3. Unselect the UXV, so the beta bundle is the one that remains selected instead.

4. Navigate back to the home page of the Freefly Updater

   1. Update/install the two apps

   2. Ensure installed versions match the version above
